Hello my dearest dears! Now, I don’t have much time today, so I will have to keep this down to less than 50,000 words, which is a really big effort for me. I am here, on the unstoppable Mr. Timothy Huxley’s most excellent OpenSim resource, Grid Press, to oh so briefly let you know about Craft Worlds upcoming IMAB event!

November 19, 2012 at 9:30 pm CET, is the opening of” Vulcan-Artists in Connection” which is very unusual in a number of ways.

  1. Although a number( no clue how many) of artists are participating, they are doing so ONE AT A TIME! Why?
  2. Because, my dears, they are playing a game called “Exquisite Corpse”. It’s not as icky as it sounds. The point of the game is that a group of artists each create one piece of a larger work while having no freaking clue what the others are doing. The French surrealists who came up with the idea were just messing around, but after a while they started doing it seriously, and the form spread to literature, then global internet projects, and at this point “Cadavre Exquis” has a lot of cultural cred. Goggle it.
  3. Because every work has to be kept a secret , THE EXHIBITION IS ONLY OPEN THREE DAYS AT A TIME! So you have until November 22 to get a good look!
  4. It is actually in a volcano.

See! I thought they were kidding at the meeting when they were talking about this! I got a sneak preview from my buddy GeR Orsini, who made me promise not to take pictures(sob)! I talked him into this one. You literally go up these steps and dive into the volcano!

I really, really, have to go now, but I did want to give you one more bit of news! Craft, which has a serious case of IMAB mania, has opened a cool new region: imabgination. It is six parcels that are handed over to various artists to just do whatever. Lollito Latham has already started unpacking.

Check it out! This place isn’t even finished and it’s a blast to mess around in.

And maybe some of you could explain to this little dude that he is in no way involved with the whole corpse thing.

And now my dears I must love you and leave you! Craft also has an IMAB photo event coming up in December, I will be posting about that soon. Thank you Timothy for cleaning up my submission so beautifully, and thank you all for joining me! See you in the volcano!

  1. Linda Henson says:

Oh very cool. I just love your posts and the pictures too. I might just need to get an account on craft and come see that. Thanks for the info. :)

  2. Hi Linda! Thanks a lot, but last night I found out that the date had been changed and I wasn;t in the loop. When I stopped panicing and then laughing with everyone (too many chefs!!) I resubmitted the article with the correct dates, which is November 26th! It will be open for three days in tota Nov. 26, 27 and 28l! Ta Da!
